Paris Men's Fashion Week: Paul Smith SS 11

Post date Tue 29 Jun 2010 8:55 AM

Paul Smith sure has sharpen his veapons lately! Here is another one really good collection from the british mod fiend, the difference this time is the 70'ies hard rock take with a slightly hint of earlie 90'ies shabbiness in it! The perfect way to take the suit preppyness of today to the next level. One of my favorites so far!

Paris Men's Fashion Week: Thom Browne

Post date Mon 28 Jun 2010 12:18 PM

Arrghh... I wanna rip my Liam-page out, not only Adam Kimmel was showing in Paris this season, the Parisian fashion elite could also watch Thom Brownes SS 11 Collection on the runway! But after watching this over at Style.com, read also Tim Blanks review over there. I must say do prefer last seasons Collection, feels like we seen the twisted preppy menswear for a while now, even if Browne always got his own version of it.

Paris Men's Fashion Week: Street Bear

Post date Sun 27 Jun 2010 12:10 PM

Pennan's homie, Walter Van Beirendonck, could as well be classed as Street Wear this season (!), okay maybe my Neighbourhood-buying-boys would boggle back for that last bustier piece and one or two of the models, but still; Beirendonck SS 11 has a lot in common with Japanese Street Wear in this minute. Of course we like it!

Paris Men's Fashion Week: Adam Kimmel SS 11

Post date Sat 26 Jun 2010 11:16 AM

Paris Men's Fashion week is on, had plans to be there but London made it impossible. A Shaded View on Fashion keeps me updated, was just looking at Juun J ss 10 and then Henrik Vibskov ss 10 over there. But what really got me stoked was Adam Kimmel's SS 11, using Mr Snoop Dogg as the muse!!! Mr Kimmel's sure instinct is amazing, I'm really impressed! It's all about taking the ugly out of the 90'es and make it shine again, mixing navy with black and gray, dressed with casual, shades of blue with each others and turn bad fit into a new fit! Visiting SLAM JAM, Ferrara

Post date Tue 1 Jun 2010 3:51 PM

ITALY MAY 2010 UPDATE

People around and about have been calling SLAM JAM Europes best Street Wear store several times, and now when I finally have visited the Ferrara head quarters I will agree to put the store at least on the TOP 3 list! Back in 1989 founder Luca Benini started to import Stüssy and Fresh Jive, today the store still is carrying Stüssy, the interior is flawless and then add the well selected supply of items from brands like SOPHNET, Junya Watanbe, Watanbe/Comme Des Garcon MAN, Head Porter Plus, Supreme and Undercover, and you have a perfect spot for the Street Wear gourmand. Also the womens selection was way better than expected with brands like PAM and Vibskov!

Christopher Shannon Look Book FW 10

Post date Mon 24 May 2010 11:20 PM

I dubbed Christopher Shannon as one of my favorites on the english menswear scene some weeks ago. I lack some of my favorite pieces here in the Look Book photos by Scott Trindle, i e the blue/white jeansjacket that's officially is on my hitlist for FW 10. Let's take a look;

Here we have PHENOMENON A/W 10, twisted classics and military berets, jackets, perfect choices of fabrics and influences and then some similiarities with my other favourite JUUN J - of course I keep on raving about this brand.

Menswear week

Since some of the male readers had some complains on the lack of refined Menswear lately we offer you a whole week!

Been through the vaults once again while shifting offices, back to the old one (thank's Jonas for helping out!), and found this fashion editorial from the time when VIBE was equivalent with quality. (During this time we're obsessed with Ralph Lauren thank's to the Lo-lifes...)VIBE 1995 Photo: Randall Mesdon, Styling George CortinaVIBE 1995 Photo: Randall Mesdon, Styling George Cortina
