The artist behind Gothic Futurism was announced dead yesterday the 29th of June (B. 1960). Cause of death yet unkown. Rammelzee was a part of the 80s downtown NYC Scene / Bronx rap/b-boy/graf scene, together with Basquiat he made the classic  “Beat Bop”, cover by Basquiat, also to be heard in the movie WILD STYLE. N Y C   2 0 0 9   U P D A T E

I saw Artist Mustafa Maluka's work during "the My Space years" and immediately felt that they were appeling to my taste, there was this Pop Art feel with an every-day documentary touch, ecclectic like the people outta South Africa themselves - the country where he's originally from.

When I was in NYC in the end of -09, Mustafa had an exhibition at TILTON GALLERY and we finally got to meet IRL. After inspecting the massive, colorfull paintings, much bigger than I expected, we had a great lunch where topics concerning South Africa, Sweden, and urban life in any Big City 2010 were addressed. South Africa is an interessting and complex country, it has major possibilties in many ways but is yet a land so damaged that Mustafa said he had a hard time seeing a future there.

Add Cultural Analyst/Ethical Hacker/Global Citizen/PhD Dropout to Artist, and then i would like to incorporate a 2FACED1, with the feet in different worlds and that flexibility and broader perspective that comes with it... you know, a two-faced one. Hope to see you in Stockholm soon Mr.!

According to Guardian MALCOLM MCLAREN has lost the battle against cancer and did  past away at an age of 64 this thursday the 8th of April 2010. The Independent have an interessting interview with this subculture fiend (Nov 09)always blending the high with the low as an original 2FACED1, most known as the omnipotent manager of SEX PISTOLS, but with multiply skills to his name.

"That relationship between art, music, fashion and politics comes as close to any as explaining why it was that the most famous bands with which he was associated – first the New York Dolls, then the Pistols – could generate such excitement in 1970s. And why it is so lacking today in a music world dominated by X Factor, though he sees Simon Cowell's extraordinarily lucrative creation as wearying rather than worrying, symptomatic of a culture that is "not in good shape" and overrun with the "pollution" of globalisation."

Here it is part. 2!!! Take your time to watch cause I'm really proud of this...hehe....no seriously I am. It should be worth your time.
There was whole lotta epic moments, that I always will take with me, during the planning of this show. Each and one of the 2faced1s stopped by my office and we sat down and had a talk about them and their perception of their own self, it became kind of deep. And personal. And when I found out that APOLLO was a tornedalian (swedish minority) just like I am, then he schooled me on things I didn't have a clue on! Understanding that some of the most positive and talented people on that runway had their ruff times too - but moved on!. Then to just be in the studio with the legendery rapper Adam a.k.a. ADL  recording our texts (like Michels " I danced better in high Heels than Madonna when I was 12" ADLs voice...you get it!), WOW I was jumping up and down like a kid, and Linn said she'd never seen me like that before. Add ZHALAs bubbly energy, Linns punchlines, and ROBYN writing togheter the most amazing little text about her 2FACED1-ness despite a super bizzy scheme in London. And the result on the actual runway: all so different and yet so beautiful in there uniqueness.
